The Big G

Im going to be a grandma! My daughter and her husband are expecting their firstborn in April. They are so excited and I couldnt be happier for them (and me!).

One of the first things my daughter did when she found out she was pregnant was to buy three books on the subject. She updates me weekly: Mom, the baby is the size of an olive. Mom, the babys heart is now beating. Mom, the baby is 2-1/2 inches long.

These frequent and welcome updates got me thinking

At our beginning, when each of us is no more than a microscopic speck, we already contain everything about usour skin, hair, and eye color, our talents and abilities, what well look like when Tegretol eighty years oldeverything is already coded within our DNA before were even born.

Dont you think thats amazing?!

Arent you forever awed by creation?

My daughter does not instruct her body or the babys to multiply, divide, and create cells that become a new and distinct individual life. Yet, the stunning ease by which all takes place without any conscious input by us absolutely blows me away.

Who can pull off such a feat? No scientist. No physicist. No medical doctor. Not one human being can create life from nothingfrom scratch.

Oh, I can almost hear the yeah, buts. Yeah, but what about in-vitro fertilization? As impressive as our scientists are, they still begin the process with an egg and sperm harvested from human beings. Scientists do not, and can not make the egg or the sperm, nor do they have any control over whether the egg will actually get fertilized.

The one Source of allthe all-powerful God force inside each and every one of uscreates all through us. We are not at the mercy or whim of some magical force. We decide. We choose. We are very much an integral compare car insurance rates of the whole of creation. We are co-creators with God. And God does all of the hard parts for us.

Wow!

I cant wait to be a grandma!
